The Coronado Fitness Center expansion includes an indoor three-lane walking track and a new large cardio and weight training area. The renovated locker room section also includes two family/handicap locker rooms and three massage therapy rooms.

Coronado Fitness Center

 

The Coronado Fitness Center is a full workout facility. The center features a heated indoor swimming pool, a fitness area including weight and cardio equipment and a three-lane walking track, whirlpool and saunas. Land and water classes are conducted Monday through Saturday. Trained weight room staff can develop individual work-out programs.

 

Fitness Area

 The Fitness Area has a large variety of strength training and cardio equipment as well as a three-lane walking track.

Trained weight room staff members are available, by appointment, to create a personalized exercise workout or to add to an existing workout program.

Note: Children who are permanent Village residents, 13 to 15 years of age, may use the weight room only if they have completed an orientation program with the Fitness Coordinator. They must be accompanied by a responsible adult 18 years of age or older at all times. No one else under 16 years of age may be in the fitness area (this includes the track, weight equipment or cardio equipment areas.)

 

Swimming Pool

The fitness center boasts a 25-meter indoor heated pool. The average pool temperature is 85 degrees. The five-lane swimming pool as an 8 foot deep-water area and a shallow area ranging from 3 1/2 feet to 5 1/2 feet.

The pool accommodates non-swimmers and swimmers who participate in aquatic programs and activities. It is equipped with a portable aquatic lift in addition to steps for safe and easy access to the water.

A baby/wading pool is available for small children. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

There are many options for fitness while enjoying the water. The pool has structured classes, lap swim and open swim time (water walking, play, fun swim). All classes are co-ed and patrons may drop in at any time.

 

Saunas and Whirlpool

The Coronado Fitness center provides a 16 person whirlpool (heated to 104 degrees) and two saunas (cool sauna is 150 degrees, hot sauna is 180 degrees) for property owners and their guests to use for relaxing after a hard workout, a long day or a lazy afternoon.

Children must be at least 16 years of age to be in the Whirlpool Room.

 

Minors

Minors (under 18 years of age) using the Coronado Fitness Center must be checked in using one of the following methods:

1. Present a POA dependent picture I.D. card or a Temporary Dependent card with the Property Owner’s I.D. number on it.

2. Present a POA renter picture I.D. card.

3. If the minor is a guest of a POA member, the POA member must accompany the minor, show his/her POA card and sign the minor in.

4. If the minor is a child of a visitor, a renter (minor has no POA picture I.D. card), or a reciprocal member, the minor must be checked in by the responsible adult with the proper POA issued I.D. card.

All minors must wear a center issued, pre-numbered identification band.

 

Land and Water Classes

The Coronado Fitness Center offers a variety of land classes for all skill levels and interests. All classes are co-ed and participants may drop in at any time. Check with the front desk for special holiday hours.

Most classes are included in the daily or membership fee. Some specialty classes require a fee and pre-registration. Please check with the front desk for more information regarding these classes and special Holiday hours.

 

Swim Lessons for Adults and Children

Swim lessons are offered throughout the year. Check with the front desk or call 501.922.1230 for dates, times and fees. Registration is required.

 

Massages

Registered Massage Therapists offer Swedish massages, deep tissue massages, facials and reflexology. Appointments are required and can be made by calling the fitness center at 501-922-1230.

 

Closed for Maintenance

The fitness center will close August 7, 2008 through August 10, 2008 for carpet cleaning and annual maintenance..
