Tennis
Summer Tennis for Juniors
USTA Junior Team Tennis is offered at the
Coronado Tennis Center for ages
12 to 18 from beginners and up.
A Quick Start program for children ages 6 to 11
will meet every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for instruction and
games.
Children ages 12 to 18 will meet every Monday
and Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. for match play.
Racquets will be provided when necessary. Balls
are also provided.
Participants should dress for a workout and wear
tennis shoes with non marking soles.

Play Days
Summer Play Day Program
The Play Day Program is offered at the
DeSoto Family Recreation
Area.
Play Day sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at
5:00 p.m. The cost for property owners is $11.00 plus tax per day and
participants must bring a swimsuit and sack lunch. The cost for those with
summer memberships to the DeSoto Family Recreation Area is $8.00 plus tax
per day. The cost for non-property owners is $15.00 plus tax per day.
Play Day Activities: The structured Play day
program includes the following activities: miniature golf, arts and crafts,
swimming, tennis, group games, theater fun, water games, and playground
activities.
Junior Golf
This volunteer-run program is in its eighth season. It teaches the
basics of golf including rules, etiquette, proper attire, and playing
fundamentals.
There is
a minimal fee for the program, and a scholarship program has been created
for junior participants.
The
program is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 17.
Junior
Golf is held every Wednesday and Thursday beginning in June and ending in
July. A championship tournament is also held at the end of each season.
Practice
is held on Wednesday at the Magellan Golf Course at 3:00 p.m. and play
is held on Thursday at the Coronado Golf Course beginning at 12:04 p.m.
