DeSoto Pools
The DeSoto Pools
feature three separate water areas for family fun: wading pool, swim tank,
and dive tank. There are loungers, umbrella covered tables, a snack bar and
locker room with showers. The facility is open daily from May 30 through
August 12, on weekends May 28 through September 4 and on Labor Day,
September 5.
Swim lessons are offered by qualified
instructors during six different sessions for children ages six months and

DeSoto Family Recreation Area
The family
recreation area has basketball courts, tennis courts, pickle ball courts,
playground equipment, a miniature golf course, picnic tables and grills. The
outside amenities are free of charge, but you must bring your own equipment.
The building is available for rent
and is equipped with tables, chairs, restrooms, and entertainment features
including ping pong, pool tables, skee-ball, air hockey, movies, toys, and
building blocks. An inflatable bounce house is also available for rent. For

Coronado Tennis Center
The Tennis Center
offers lessons for children ages 6 to 18 years of age throughout the year.
There are summer and year-round youth programs. For information on dates and

Junior Golf
This volunteer-run program is in its eighth season. It teaches the
basics of golf including rules, etiquette, proper attire, and playing
fundamentals.
There is
a minimal fee for the program, and a scholarship program has been created
for junior participants.
The
program is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 17.
Junior
Golf is held every Wednesday and Thursday beginning in June and ending in
July. A championship tournament is also held at the end of each season.
Practice
is held on Wednesday at the Magellan Golf Course at 3:00 p.m. and play
is held on Thursday at the Coronado Golf Course beginning at 12:04 p.m.
Coronado Center Library
The library features a children's section with
two books and movies for toddlers to young adults. Contact the library at
501.922.3555 for information on children's story time.
Pavilions
Hot Springs
Village has two covered pavilions which may be rented for events including
group picnics, family reunions, or meetings. Pavilions are open to the
public for use anytime when not rented. Each has picnic tables and grills.
Balboa pavilion is within walking
distance of the Balboa Marina and Balboa Beach. The Cortez pavilion is
located on Lake Cortez and has a boat ramp and gazebo. To reserve a
pavilion, call 501.922.0322.
Beaches
Hot Springs
Village has three beaches with marked swimming areas (no lifeguards on
duty). Balboa Beach (sand with two beach shelters); Cortez Beach (sand); and
DeSoto Beach (pea gravel). All have picnic tables, grills, and restroom
facilities.
Picnic Areas
All picnic areas
are open to the public and have picnic tables, grills and restroom
facilities. Picnic areas can be found at Balboa Beach, Cortez Beach, DeSoto
Beach, DeSoto Family Recreation Area, Coronado Boat Ramp, Balboa Pavilion,
and Cortez Pavilion.
Outdoor Recreation Clubs
Pickle ball, lawn
bowling, and bocce ball are available through the respective clubs. Contact
