DeSoto Park Nature Trail has
some uneven terrain, but is not difficult to walk.

Wildflowers are abundant on Village trails - but please, leave them for
others to enjoy. |

Trails Frequently Asked Questions
1. I am not in great shape. Are the trails physically demanding?
Village trails offer a variety in length and challenge. The trails
identified as nature trails are usually the least demanding and suitable
for most Villagers in reasonably good health. Hernando Trail is a good
exercise Trail, offering greater distance and more hills. The
Multi-purpose Trails are also longer and include more hills. The Cart
Lanes follow major Village roads, which (of course) means steeper hills.
2. What facilities are available on trails?
Village trails are daytime recreation facilities only. They generally
provide parking at one or more access points to the trail; they provide a
Trail Survey box with survey forms and pencils (and often a supply of
litter bags). Trails usually provide trash cans at trail heads or
strategic spots along trail. The trails do not provide
bathroom facilities, water, lights, or telephones.
3. Are pets allowed on trails?
Pets are welcome on all village trails, but owner’s are expected to be
responsible. As throughout the village, pets must be kept under positive
control by the owner. Owners must assure that pets do not threaten or
bother other trail users. Owners are expected to pick up after their pet.
4. What Can I do to help the trails?
-
Be a smart and courteous walker.
-
Fill in a Trail Survey (found at most trail head survey boxes).
-
Volunteer your time to help maintain the trails (fill in a survey form
to volunteer).
-
Keep the trails free of litter.
5. Where Can I get More Information?
Printed Trails Brochures are available at the POA Building or at the
Coronado Fitness Center. The brochures contain maps and descriptions of
all POA Trails. You may also contact a Trails committee member.
